Mantle Showcase: Pixelmon Brings a New Gaming Experience to Mantle Ecosystem

Mantle is broadening its presence in the GameFi sector with its latest collaboration with Pixelmon. As Pixelmon's second hyper casual game, PixelPals combines elements of pet and land management with card dueling (coming soon) to bring a whole new gaming experience to Mantle Network.

Redefining Rewards for Player Engagement

With a prize pool of $135,000 in Season Zero, PixelPals is setting the standard for gaming platforms to reward actively participating players. Users can win a share of the Season's prize pool by climbing the leaderboard and accumulating Pet Points, which are awarded for feeding their Pets and harvesting crops from garden land. Players can also claim level milestone rewards as they progress through the ranks.

"PixelPals is a perfect representation of where gaming is moving towards. Many web3-based gaming applications are adopting a Play-to-Earn (P2E) model as time progresses. This approach rewards players for their active participation and interaction with the game. Such a model is shaping the future of gaming and is key in attracting web2 gamers to the web3 space. The quicker we see this trend develop, the faster this transition will likely occur," said Derek Lim, head of ecosystem research at Mantle Network.

Farm2Farm: Next-Gen Gaming with Web3 Mechanics

Not only does the prize pool serve as an incentive, but the team at PixelPals has integrated mechanics designed to keep players engaged throughout the Season. With the introduction of Farm2Farm, players can also farm and decorate their habitat to gain Habitat Value, which will be tied to $MON reward distribution. This exemplifies how gaming applications built on Mantle Network are introducing web3 mechanics to the gaming industry.

Architectural Edge of Mantle in GameFi

Due to its modular architecture, Mantle is well-equipped to facilitate the growth and scalability of PixelPals’ in-game store. An increasing number of gaming applications are adopting features that require robust networks that can handle significant amounts of microtransactions. PixelPals is becoming a part of this trend as their in-game store allows players to purchase with USDT. These items are crucial for gameplay, as they help players to supercharge their progression and keep their pets alive.

PixelPals anticipates a significant volume of in-game transactions, and with Mantle's assistance, these transactions are expected to be conducted seamlessly without compromising user experience.

Giuliu Xiloyannis, Pixelmon CEO said, "First and foremost, I want to thank those who have placed their trust in the Pixelmon team over the last year. The community's support and continuous feedback are pivotal in empowering Pixelmon team's efforts to build the first decentralized gaming IP. After the success of Kevin The Adventurer, we are thrilled to introduce PixelPals, our second casual game, to the world. Once again thank you to everyone who has been a part of this incredible journey, and we can't wait to see players dive into PixelPals."

“2024 promises to be a year of endless innovation for the GameFi sector, and we’re thrilled to introduce Pixelmon and its games to Mantle Ecosystem and its community. Our users can look forward to upcoming collaborative events that’ll bring them into the world of decentralized gaming,” added Geezee, head of gaming business development at Mantle.
