Update Ticker Symbol to $MNT on Mantle Network Testnet via MetaMask

As some of you might know, we migrated testnet $BIT on Mantle Network Testnet to the new Mantle token ($MNT) last week with the v0.4.0 update. This means that developers can start building their dApps on testnet with the inclusion of testnet $MNT. Following this, we introduced a simple tutorial to mint testnet $MNT on Etherscan, but how do you ensure that the ticker symbol $MNT is reflected on your MetaMask wallet?

On Mantle Network Testnet, the token contract for $MNT is the same as the previous $BIT contract, but the symbol has changed to $MNT. In order to see the $MNT on your wallet, you will need to update the ticker symbol for the network in your chosen wallet.

In this short guide, you’re only seven steps away from changing the $BIT ticker symbol for Mantle Network Testnet to $MNT on MetaMask. This is for users who had testnet $BIT in their wallets before the migration happened for testnet.

Step 1: Click on the icon at the top right of your MetaMask browser extension.

Step 2: Click on “Settings”.
