As the Mediterranean sun beat down on the glamorous shores of Cannes, EthCC 2025 transformed the city synonymous with cinema into a stage for Ethereum's brightest innovators. The week-long gathering brought together developers, builders, and visionaries from across the globe. For those who couldn't join us on the French Riviera, here's our perspective on a week that proved the Ethereum ecosystem is stronger and more collaborative than ever.
EthCC Main Conference
To kick things off to the jam-packed week, we had Tim, Global Strategy at Mantle, take the stage to share his insights on TradFi, treasuries, and the current policy landscape, focusing on how yield-generating treasury assets are emerging as ETH's next major narrative.
"This is the kind of product the market's been waiting for which could drive massive TradFi capital into the space," Tim explained, positioning Mantle as the bridge to make this vision a reality. His presentation covered how Digital Asset Treasuries (DATs) can serve as a compliant pathway for institutional investors, the leverage advantages of DATs over spot holdings, and the transformative potential of yield-bearing assets in attracting traditional finance capital.
UR x Mantle Mixer
Part 1: UR x Mantle | Founders & Owners: Transforming Transactions One of our key highlights of the week was hosting the UR x Mantle Mixer which was split into 2 parts, starting with part 1: an exclusive gathering designed specifically for business owners and founders looking to revolutionize how they operate and transact. The "Founders & Owners: Transforming Transactions" session brought together industry leaders for sharp insights and practical takeaways on the future of business payments.
The event featured a keynote on how UR is transforming business transactions, showcasing our vision for "Blockchain for Banking" and how it addresses real-world challenges faced by growing Web3 businesses. A panel discussion with Mantle's leadership team dove deeper into practical applications, from managing cross-border payments and stablecoin treasuries to improving capital efficiency.
Apart from the insightful talks, attendees also had the chance to network amongst each other, enjoy some food and refreshments, and if that wasn't enough, those who registered for the UR app got their hands on a custom Ledger Nano S Plus!
Part 2: UR x Mantle Beachside Mixer
As the sun set on the French Riviera, we transitioned to Part 2 of our mixer — a laid-back beachside gathering where builders, founders, and users could unwind and connect in a more relaxed setting. The beachside mixer provided the perfect backdrop for meaningful conversations away from the conference halls.
Agents Unleashed: Cannes Agent Festival
During EthCC Week, we jumped headfirst into one of crypto's hottest conversations at Agents Unleashed: Cannes Agent Festival. This unique event brought together top builders and thinkers in the AI space, featuring agent showcases, expert roundtables, and a red carpet welcome complete with food, drinks, and networking.
MantleX’s Chief Alchemist, Jordi Alexander, joined a panel titled “The Potential of DeFAI and How to Get Real Users.” He shared insights on how AI agents are set to transform DeFi, and why real user engagement will be the key to long-term adoption.
Social Capital by Mantle
We brought Social Capital (SoCap) to Cannes this year with a relaxed Builder Brunch by the sea. Hosted at a beachside café, the event welcomed an energetic mix of top-tier builders and Mantle Ecosystem contributors for a morning of connection, conversation, and good vibes.
There were no set seats and no fixed agenda — just great coffee, flaky croissants, and Japanese sandos for everyone to enjoy. The open-air setup gave attendees the chance to mingle, exchange ideas, and dive into some meaningful discussions.
After several days of packed conference schedules, the relaxed atmosphere provided a welcome change of pace for those who attended.
Sozu Haus Demo Day
EthCC Week also saw the spotlight turn to early-stage innovation at the Sozu Haus Demo Day, a builder-focused event co-hosted by Mantle and EigenLayer. Held in Cannes, the event featured fast-paced presentations and thoughtful Q&A sessions, offering a glimpse into some of the most exciting new ideas in Web3.

As EthCC came to an end, our team didn't stop there. As one of the main sponsors of the ETHGlobal Hackathon, Mantle was proud to support the developer community at one of EthCC week’s most builder-centric events. ETHGlobal continues to be a launchpad for innovation across the Ethereum ecosystem, and this year in Cannes was no exception.
Our DevRel team were on the ground meeting teams, answering questions, and supporting builders at the Mantle booth. We also offered $5,000 in bounties to encourage projects building on Mantle Network. It was great to connect with so many passionate developers bringing new ideas to life.
