A Staker's Guide to mETH

Stake and unstake ETH easily on Mantle's Liquid Staking Protocol (LSP) with this simple tutorial. This guide will also feature mETH, the Mantle LSP's value-accumulating receipt token that will allow holders to claim the staked principal accumulated rewards.

STAKE

Step 1: Visit the LSP homepage, and you'll see the staking interface.

  • Make sure you're connected with your wallet, where multiple wallet integrations are supported, including MetaMask, WalletConnect, Bybit Wallet, TokenPocket and more.
  • Remember to select the correct network. If you'd like to test the staking process first, switch to the Goerli Testnet; otherwise, make sure you're on the Ethereum network.

Step 2: Enter the amount of ETH you'd like to stake and ensure you have sufficient funds in your connected wallet, then click on "Stake".

Step 3: Check the amount of mETH you'd be getting in return and both the exchange and adjustment rates before you click on "Confirm".

  • The minimum amount of ETH for staking is 0.02 ETH. Please ensure that your wallet has sufficient funds for gas.
  • Please note that the exchange rate between ETH and mETH is deterministically calculated, and there is no slippage caused by the stake (or unstake) size.
  • You'll be able to check the transaction cost before proceeding, and will be prompted to confirm the transaction via your wallet.

Step 4: If you're staking for the first time, you will be asked to add mETH to your wallet after the transaction is confirmed. Click on the corresponding button on the pop-up and confirm the addition of the token to your wallet when prompted.

  • Price oracles update every 8 hours, i.e., the exchange rate of ETH to mETH will change every 8 hours — check the oracle update intervals here: https://meth.mantle.xyz/stats
  • Once you've added mETH to your wallet, you will see it added to your token list.

UNSTAKE

Step 1: To unstake, click on the "Unstake" tab instead on the homepage and enter the amount of mETH you'd like to unstake, then click on "Approve mETH".

  • The minimum amount of ETH required for unstaking is 0.01 ETH.
  • Check out the exchange and adjustment rates for ETH and mETH, and more importantly, the estimated time it would take for your staked ETH to be available for claiming after unstake.
  • You'll be prompted to sign after approving mETH in this process.

Step 2: Check out the transaction cost and click on "Confirm".

  • Unstaking process may take up to a few minutes to complete
  • Once successful, please note that a processing time of a few days is required before you can claim your ETH. For more information, check out our tech docs here.

Step 3: Click on the "Claim" tab where you'll see your pending ETH.

  • As mentioned above, it may take up to a few days for your unstaked ETH to be made available for claiming.
  • Under this tab, you will be able to see the different status of your unstaking requests.

  • Once the transaction is successful, you will see a pop-up on the top-right hand corner of the screen indicating that you've claimed your ETH into your wallet

CLAIM

Step 1: Check out the "Claim" tab to find your claimable ETH.

  • Click on the "Claim" button to proceed. You will need to provide permissions for this transaction via your connected wallet.

Step 2: Your claim is successful once the pop-up window as seen below appears.
